This corporate film was produced over a couple of months at various locations around the UK. The script was developed by VisualMedia's video division, in conjunction with the client, and the film was made for dissemination to various E.ON UK stakeholders to highlight what the company stands for and what it does. It incorporated a whole range of filming techniques – including aerial shots from helicopters flying over wind farms and power stations.
This single subject piece-to-camera shows Joanne Lumley, board member of Friends Provident's Stewardship Ethical Fund, celebrating the fund's 20th anniversary. If the interviewee is comfortable in front of the camera, then they may be able to talk for several minutes unprompted. Alternatively, an Autocue machine can be used as a message prompt – but either way it would usually only take a couple of hours of filming time to produce a finished piece.
This 90-second showreel was used as background material at the National Lottery Commission's press conference to announce the winning bidder details. The showreel doesn't actually use any moving footage at all, but is a combination of still images, press cuttings and written captions, editied together to give the feeling of movement. It is a good example of being able to create the impression of a video production without using moving footage.
